How do I book a ride?

Click the 'Book Online' tab and choose from the selection boxes. We must receive full payment to hold your reservation. Please contact us at info@sidecar-venture.com or (619) 786-1261 for 24-hour rentals and special event bookings.

 

Why can't I instantly book a ride online anymore? (Updated 11/11/21)

Our holiday calendar is almost full and we thank our customers who have booked with us for this holiday season! We are only reserving our sidecars for special events at this time. For that reason, we are temporarily closing the booking calendar until further notice.  If you'd like to reserve one of our sidecars for your special event, please email us at info@sidecar-venture.com for a quote.

To ensure your inquiry receives the quickest turnaround, please provide the following information in your email:

-Driver's Full Name

-Driver's Email & Phone Number

-Event Date

-Event Location

-Event Type (i.e. wedding, photo shoot, corporate event, etc.)

-Event Start and End Times (we will need to know when to drop-off or pick-up if using delivery service- fees vary)

 

What if I don't know how to drive a motorcycle?

Our automatic Vespa scooter with sidecar is easy to drive and does not require any special shifting. A quick safety walk-through from us and you're good to go!

 

Do you need a motorcycle's license?

Nope! Just a valid driver's license. Advanced knowledge of motorcycle operation is required to drive the Moto Guzzi V7 Stone motorcycle with sidecar, however, our Vespa scooter with sidecar is the best option if you don't know how to drive a motorcycle. 

*Note: While a motorcycle's license (Class M1) is not required, advanced knowledge of motorcycle operation is needed to rent. We will conduct a motorcycle operation evaluation and a safety walk-through before the ride. If deemed unknowledgeable with driving and operating the vehicle, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation for your safety. By paying your invoice, you agree you or the driver has advanced knowledge of operating a motorcycle.

 

What is the check-in/out process?

Meet us at the location sent in your invoice. Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to check-in time to fill out rental agreements and review basic motorcycle or scooter safety procedures. Please meet us at the same spot at the scheduled check-out time.

 

Is that price all inclusive?

Yes, the price includes insurance, gas and helmets with the exception of state tax.

 

Can I buy charcuterie boxes without having to rent a sidecar?

Yes! You may purchase the boxes even if you're not renting a sidecar. You may buy as many boxes as you'd like. We recommend a 2-day's notice on all charcuterie boxes. Pick up for all charcuterie and barkcuterie boxes in Downtown, San Diego.

 

Do you make dietary accommodations to your charcuterie boxes?

Yes! We can customize to your dietary needs. Vegan and gluten free options are available upon request. We recommend a 2-day's notice on all charcuterie boxes.

 

Are pets allowed in the sidecar?

Yes! We allow 1 dog at a time to be seated in the sidecar. We provide a dog harness, safety seatbelts and riding goggles. If you have a small dog that can fit in between your legs, you can sit inside the sidecar with your pup. If you have a larger dog, please request in advance for the windshield to be taken off before your ride for maximum comfort. *Please note: some dogs may not be happy with the noise of the engine during the sidecar experience. Please plan accordingly.

 

How many riders can fit on the vehicle?

3 riders can fit on the vehicle. 2 on the motorcycle or scooter and 1 in the sidecar.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by credit/debit card and PayPal.

 

Can I keep the picnic blanket?

No, unfortunately our picnic blankets are not for sale, however, you may keep the blanket for a $30 charge.

 

Can I rent a sidecar for my wedding?

Yes! Our sidecars are available for weddings, photo shoots and any special events. Please contact us at info@sidecar-venture.com for a quote.

What if it rains? Can I reschedule my ride?

Yes! You may reschedule your ride if there's a 50% chance of rain with no extra charge.
